Best Pre-Wedding Locations in Singapore

Best Pre-Wedding Locations in Singapore

Finding a place that feels like you

Couples often ask us,

“Where should we have our pre-wedding shoot?”

It’s a question that doesn’t really have a right answer.

The best location isn’t always somewhere new.

Over the years, we’ve travelled to distant mountains, wandered unfamiliar cities, and photographed couples in places we’d only dreamt of visiting. Yet some of the photographs we return to most often were made close to home. Along a familiar street. In a neighbourhood filled with memories. Or simply in the living room where life quietly happens every day.

Beautiful photographs don’t begin with beautiful locations.

They begin with the two of you.

That’s usually where the adventure begins.

For couples who don’t mind getting a little adventurous

Coney Island

Some places ask you to slow down.

Coney Island asks you to wander.

It’s one of the quieter corners of Singapore (and where most people just stop right at its iconic gate for the ‘grams’ before heading back), where paved and unpaved paths, wild forest and coastal views of Pulau Ubin and beyond make it feel surprisingly removed from the city. There are no grand landmarks here, and perhaps that’s exactly why we enjoy photographing it. And sometimes we’ll be greeted by the cheeky smooth coated otters too!

The journey becomes part of the experience. Walking together beneath the trees, stopping when the light catches your eye, and letting the morning unfold at its own pace.

It’s a location for couples who don’t mind a little adventure and are happy to trade polished cityscapes for something a little more natural.

For couples who love slow mornings and charming neighbourhoods

Tiong Bahru

Not every pre-wedding session needs a dramatic skyline or sweeping landscapes.

Sometimes, all it takes is a neighbourhood that invites you to slow down.

couple having fun neighbourhood pre wedding

Tiong Bahru has a quiet charm that’s hard to describe until you’ve wandered through it in the morning. The old school charm, back alleys, murals and low rise buildings with spiral stairs make it feel less like a photoshoot and more like spending a morning together.

For couples who love colour and character

Joo Chiat

Every street in Joo Chiat seems to have its own personality.

Colourful shophouses, textured walls and little details tucked between cafés and heritage buildings give the neighbourhood a warmth that’s difficult to recreate anywhere else in Singapore.

Every neighbourhood tells a different story.

Little India tells many.

From colourful shophouses and intricate murals to bustling markets and quiet side streets, there’s a richness here that reveals itself the more you wander. Around one corner, you’ll find beautifully weathered textures and historic architecture. Around the next, the scent of fresh flowers and food drifting through the air.

It’s a neighbourhood full of life, yet there are still quieter moments to be found.

We enjoy photographing here because it invites couples to embrace the unexpected. A vibrant doorway, an old five-foot way and sunlight catching a row of colourful shophouses.

If you’re drawn to places with character, colour and stories waiting to be discovered, Little India offers a backdrop that’s both vibrant and deeply rooted in Singapore’s heritage.

For couples who love quiet mornings and nature

Singapore Botanic Gardens

There are places that feel beautiful because of what you see.

Then there are places that feel beautiful because of how they make you slow down.

The Botanic Gardens has always been one of those places for us. Long stretches of shaded paths, towering trees and soft morning light filtering through the leaves create a calmness that’s difficult to put into words.

Rather than chasing one iconic backdrop, we enjoy wandering. Some of our favourite photographs happen between the gardens themselves, when conversations continue uninterrupted and the morning unfolds at its own pace.

Fort Canning Park

Fort Canning is one of those places that quietly surprises people.

Dairy Farm Nature Park

If Singapore had a place that felt a little less like Singapore, Dairy Farm would be high on our list.

Forest trails, open grasslands and the last few remaining granite rock cliffs create a landscape that’s wonderfully different from the city.

It’s ideal for couples who don’t mind getting their shoes a little soiled in exchange for a quiet morning surrounded by nature.

Pulau Ubin

Some places ask you to leave the city behind.

Pulau Ubin asks you to slow down with it.

couple in bicycle rental shop pulau ubin pre wedding

The journey begins long before the photographs do. A short bumboat ride across the water, the gentle hum of bicycles along quiet roads, and suddenly, Singapore feels wonderfully different.

There’s a simplicity to Pulau Ubin that’s difficult to find elsewhere. Rustic kampongs, weathered wooden jetties, open quarries and winding forest trails each tell a different story. Nothing feels polished, and perhaps that’s exactly what makes it so special.

nice light pulau ubin pre wedding

We love photographing here because it encourages curiosity. Instead of following a fixed route, we wander. We pause when beautiful light filters through the trees, stop by the shoreline when the tide is kind, and let the island reveal itself one quiet corner at a time.

It’s a place for couples who don’t mind getting a little dusty, taking the slower path, and embracing the adventure together.

After all, some of the best memories aren’t made when everything goes according to plan. They’re made somewhere between the bumboat ride, the unexpected detours, and the laughter that follows.

Best for

  • Couples who enjoy outdoor adventures
  • Rustic landscapes
  • Exploring together
  • Nature lovers

For couples who appreciate timeless architecture

CHIJMES

CHIJMES has remained a favourite for good reason.

Its elegant white arches, historic architecture and soft light create photographs that feel effortlessly timeless.

National Gallery Singapore

Clean lines, graceful corridors and understated architecture make the National Gallery a wonderful choice for couples who appreciate simplicity.

Perhaps your favourite place is already home

At Home

Sometimes the most meaningful location isn’t a park, a beach or a famous landmark.

at home pre wedding couple seated infront of gate

Sometimes it’s your home.

The place where slow Sunday mornings happen. Where coffee is shared before the rest of the world wakes up. Where your favourite records play in the background, your furry friends follows you from room to room, and the little routines you’ve built together quietly unfold.

There’s a different kind of intimacy that comes with photographing couples at home. Nothing feels staged because nothing needs to be.

The photographs become less about where you are, and more about how life feels together.

Years from now, your home may change.

The furniture may be different.

You may move somewhere else entirely.

But these photographs become a little time capsule of a chapter in your lives that only the two of you shared.

Best for

  • Couples who value meaningful memories over scenery
  • Homebodies
  • Pet-friendly sessions
  • Relaxed, documentary-style photographs

How do you choose the right location?

Rather than asking which location is the most beautiful, ask yourselves a few simple questions.

Do you love quiet mornings or bustling streets?

Would you rather walk barefoot on a beach or wander off the beaten track?

Do you imagine sharing coffee in your favourite neighbourhood, or watching the sunrise by the sea?

The answers often point you towards a place that feels naturally yours.

And that’s usually where the most honest photographs begin.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best pre-wedding locations in Singapore?

There isn’t a single answer. Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay, Botanic Gardens, Fort Canning, East Coast Park, Coney Island, Tiong Bahru and Joo Chiat are all wonderful in different ways. The best location is often the one that reflects who you are as a couple.

Is sunrise or sunset better?

We generally enjoy sunrise sessions because Singapore is quieter, cooler and beautifully peaceful before the city wakes up.

How many locations should we choose?

One or two locations are usually more than enough. We’d much rather spend time exploring than rushing from place to place.

Can we have our pre-wedding session at home?

Absolutely. Some of the most meaningful sessions we’ve photographed have taken place at home, surrounded by the little routines and memories that already make the space yours.

What should we wear?

Wear something that allows you to move comfortably and feels like yourselves. The more relaxed you are, the more naturally the photographs will reflect who you are together.

Looking back

After all these years, we still don’t think there’s a single “best” pre-wedding location in Singapore.

Some of our favourite photographs have been made at places everyone knows.

Others happened somewhere completely unexpected.
