Cindy + Teng Siang // Paris, France Pre Wedding
To me, France has always exuded an idyllic and charming lure ever since my foray into its language years ago. I fondly recall the times we (étudiants) trail our fingers along the Paris rues and avenues to the landmarks on our textbook map. That was the closest I got to France. Fast forward a few years, I finally got to breathe in the sights and sounds of this beautiful city. While squeezing through the crowded street along Avenue des Champs-Élysées on my first visit during the Christmas season, a little girl hopped along in front of me and sang the catchy chorus of Joe Dassin’s Les Champs-Élysées. “Aux Champs-Élysées, por por por por por~” . This exact same tune became my ear bug ever since.
Being back in Paris again in Winter, I had bouts of reminiscence from the past. The familiar landmarks, alley ways, sweet smelling vin chaud, and of course, with the same song still singing in my head. It was a great day wandering along the Seine river to the hills of Montmartre with Cindy and Teng Siang. Although we only spent a short time together, I felt like I’ve known them for a long time. The heartfelt moments, and genuine connections say much about this pair of high school sweetheart, its simply beyond words.
